Fourth architecture award for rendering/plastering
The ECOLA Award was launched in order to draw attention to outstanding architecture. A total of 142 works were submitted for the fourth award for the use of render/plastering, and the best of the prize-winning entries will be on display at the trade fair as part of a touring exhibition of the German Association of the Stucco Industry. The panel of international users and manufacturers assessed the works in three categories: Renovation/conversion/monument protection, “bread and butter” architecture, and new buildings. The entries were judged on their architectural and design quality, the use of plaster, the spatial concept and atmosphere, functionality, flexibility of use, ergonomics, technical implementation, and resource-conserving construction methods. A total of 20 projects were selected for the second round, and these were then narrowed down until a winner and a highly commended entrant were chosen in each category. During Paint — Finishing & Facade 2007, visitors will have the chance to find out about the ideas of the best prize-winners.
